learn 2.1 chain chain change

As a reference librarian I work with patrons to provide them the best possible access to our collection- in print and virtual formats. I also go out into the community to help patrons get connected to information and technology.


I read the Davinci article-- very interesting. I would like to see podcasting stations. art studios, video studios implemented in our library. However,I also belive that an enterprise needs the staffing to allow these changes to occur. It would be reasonable to have very detailed training -8 hour work session devoted to learning some of these new technologies. Who knows maybe I'll find some place locally to take specific classes on these topics.

Learn 2.1 open source 10/8/08

I like LibrarySpot.com. Technology has made it easier for me to find quick answers to simple questions such as addresses and phone numbers. As technology makes information more of an open source I see our patrons actually submitting answers to questions that other patrons have asked. In the future, there will be more collaboration between patrons and staff.

week 3 learn 2.1- NUTRITION DATA

The Nutrition data was very interesting but I do not think I would want to do this everyday. Weight Watchers is easier to use when tracking your daily intake. Nutrition data is very detailed. Maybe it is not for the average person. I do use my MP3 player to listen to my favorite music when I am walking.

I might try the 10,000 steps a day-tracking with a pedometer.

Here is a list of a few of the things that I want to learn.
1) I want to create all types of podcasts promoting library products.
2) I want learn to use flashdrives MP3 players without any hesitation.
3) I want more practice creating/posting items on wikis.

my doggy Lady

My doggy only has 4 pounds to lose. She is not very fat anymore. She still loves to chase cats and sometimes I pretend to eat her dog bone and then she freaks out and fights me over the bone. The dog wins everytime.

week 10- Life as a Panther

This assignment is to report how I will use my mp3 player. I probably will not use the mp3 player given for participating in the course. I already have one that I use for downloading music. Assignment complete.

Week 9 Digital music

I liked listening to Emily Wallace. I'm not sure where I fall on the music recording but it seems ok to rip songs from your own cd that you already purchased and listen to them on your mp3 player. I do not believe it is ok to download the music from your cd and give it to someone else. It seems like stealing.
